SUSAN
SHOLAR, CAH, ACPR
The American Kennel Club has now approved Ms. Susan D. Sholar, Head Instructor at the California School of Dog Grooming as a licensed AKC judge. Ms. Sholar had recently resigned her membership as a Certified Professional Handler, in order to submit her application to the AKC judge’s committee. Ms. Sholar has been approved to judge 12 breeds within the following 5 groups: Hound Group, Working Group, Toy Group, Non-Sporting Group and Herding Group This approval provides the school with an AKC judge as their Head Instructor, as well as instructors who are professional all breed handlers.

E-mail:Susan Sholar Ms. Sholar’s first introduction to dogs was at 5 years of age when her father was Assistant Director of the television show RIN TIN TIN. Her educational background is in Business Law. Sholar was a veterinary technician in the state of Hawaii and has been showing and grooming dogs for the past 30 years and is now a retired certified professional handler. She received a recognition award for her excellent skills in the care and handling of animals by Hawaii's Governor Aryoshi. Ms. Sholar has also been recognized for her accomplishments in numerous National Dog Publications. Since 1980, she has been the owner of Sholyn Kennels in Encinitas, California. Acknowledging her education and years of experience in her field, the State of California, Council for Private, Post secondary and Vocational Education has issued her teaching credentials for Pet Care and Pet Grooming. Ms. Sholar is a breeder of the Alaskan Malamute Dog and in 1989 and 1990 had the number one Alaskan Malamute in the United States. She is also the breeder of one of the top ranked Shih Tzus in the United States. Ms. Sholar’s expertise in caring for, breeding, grooming and training dogs has earned her a respected name throughout the world. |

Shirley Sanders began her career with animals in Utah, where she was employed
as a veterinarian technician. She then worked as an assistant director
of an animal shelter and finally as a manager of a boarding and grooming
kennel in Utah, before moving to California.

Mrs.
Sanders
has been showing and breeding dogs for over 25 years. She shows all
sporting breeds and has owned and bred American Cocker Spaniels, English
Setters, Boston Terriers and the Brittany.
With her excellent grooming skills and experience, she has owned and managed grooming shops for many years in California. Now changing her career from grooming to instructor to join our staff, Mrs. Sanders continues her professional handling career to this day at dog shows throughout the United States, Canada and Taiwan. |

Kerry Creeden, CAH Instructor Kerry has been working in the pet care industry for 26 years. She started to groom pets in 1973 and in 1981, purchased her first grooming shop in Placentia, California, where she produced the highest number of winners in the World Wide Pet Supply Association history of grooming competitions. She also produced one of the top ten international groomers in the world, who won a placement on the 1994, U.S. Groom Team. This employee placed first in the competition and brought home the Gold!!State Teaching Certification Number (Pending) |
Kerry, was the winner of WWPSA (World Wide Pet Supply Association) creative Design President’s Award and was a member of the board of Directors of CAPP (California Association of Pet Professionals.) Kerry is also a member of WWPSA, where she was the organizer of the grooming competitions held in Long Beach, California. In 1994, Kerry received a recognition of Excellence from WWPSA. She has been a vice president and board member of the Southern California Professional Groomers Association and co-editor of the organization's newsletter. Kerry is also a Certified Companion Animal Hygienist, I, II, III and assisted with CAH instruction. Kerry sold her first grooming shop in 1996 and opened a second grooming shop in Chino Hills, California, which she presently owns. Over the years Kerry has been a private consultant, speaker and grooming instructor for numerous individuals and clubs. Her outstanding talents in professional pet grooming, competition grooming and creative design skills, enhances our expert teaching faculty and solid curriculum already set in place with our 2 present instructors and Head Instructor, Susan Sholar, CAH, ACPR who is an American Kennel Club Judge.
